• The first coin was stuck in 1963 to commemorate the centennial of the reign of the House of Glucksburg. This one-year-only coin features overlapping portraits of kings that reigned in Greece since the establishment of the Glucksburg dynasty in 1963: George I (1863-1913), Constantine I (1913-1917 & 1920-1922), Alexander (1917-1920), George II (1922-1924 & 1935-1947) and Paul (1947-1964). The reverse shows an eye-appealing map.
• The second coin was struck in 1964 to commemorate the September 1964 marriage of Constantine II of Greece and Anne-Marie of Denmark. At the time of the wedding Constantine II had been king only since March of that year. It was the first and only wedding of a sitting Greek monarch. The one-year-only coin features a dual bust of the couple on the obverse while the coin’s reverse depicts a crowned double-headed eagle.
