In creating that design, Taylor echoed Anthony de Francisci’s design for the American Peace Dollar introduced in 1921, saying she was inspired by the way that it “evoked a clear and elegant message of not only peace but also of harmony and grace.” She added that her design also symbolizes “the core values of peace, order and good government that have come to inherently represent the Canadian identity.”
