Jeff Garrett is the Founder and Owner of Mid-American Rare Coin Galleries, and Co-owner of Sarasota Rare Coin Galleries. He is a Special Projects Consultant with the Numismatic Guaranty Company. Mr. Garrett has authored many numismatic books, including Encyclopedia of U.S. Gold Coins 1795–1933: Circulating, Proof, Commemorative, and Pattern Issues; 100 Greatest U.S. Coins, winner of the Best Book Award; and United States Coinage: A Study By Type. He is also the price editor for The Official Redbook: A Guide Book of United States Coins. Mr. Garrett is a consultant to the Smithsonian Institution’s National Numismatic Collection. He is a member of the Professional Numismatic Guild and previously served as President, Vice President and Treasurer of the organization. In 2009 Mr. Garrett first ran successfully for a seat on the Board of Governors for the American Numismatic Association and is now Past President of the organization. Mr. Garrett resides in Lexington, KY with his wife Mary Lynn.
