Asahi Refining 1-oz Silver Liberty Bell Round
- Qty Credit Card Wire
- 1+ $38.50 $37.36
One Of America’s Most Iconic Symbols Of Liberty
The Liberty Bell in Philadelphia is without a doubt one of America’s most iconic symbols of liberty. Over the years it’s been featured on coins, stamps, and, most recently, on the current $100 note where it changes color depending on the angle at which the note is held. Now it appears on this fantastic silver dollar-sized round struck by world-renowned Asahi Refining in a Troy ounce of highly pure 99.9% fine silver!
Frosted Details And Latent Image Security Feature
Featuring frosted and raised detail, the outline of the Liberty Bell includes stars, stripes, the crack, a 1976 year date, and a banner with an inscription that reads, “LIBERTY.” Flip it over and you’ll see a five-pointed star, laurel leaves, and a banner that reads, “E PLURIBUS UNAM,” Latin for “Out of many, one,” the traditional motto of the United States. The non-legal tender round’s silver weight and purity is also engraved along with the Asahi Refining mint mark. What’s really cool about the round is a latent image security feature that reveals the head of a proud American Bald Eagle inside the star depending on how you hold the piece!

About The Liberty Bell
No one knows what originally caused the crack in the Liberty Bell. Its predecessor, installed in 1751 in the tower of what today is known as Independence Hall, cracked on the first test ring. Not wanting to order a second bell from the Whitechapel Foundry in London, local metalworkers melted down the bell and recast a new one right there in Philadelphia. It went on to be used for nearly 90 years. In the early 1840s, however, a narrow split began to develop, and repairmen were called in to fix it so that it would be in working order for the celebration of George Washington’s birthday holiday in 1846. The work was meant to stop the crack from getting worse but proved to be unsuccessful. The crack was actually widened, and a new fissure developed, silencing the bell forever. That means that no one living today has ever heard the ringing sound of the Liberty Bell.
