An End, and a Beginning
The years 1921 and 1922 are critical ones for silver collectors, as they mark the last year of the Morgan Silver Dollar as well as the first year the new Peace Silver Dollar began its standard-relief run after an ill-fated high-relief test. Highly sought-after, you can now secure both coins with this special six-piece sets featuring the 1921 Morgans struck in Philadelphia, San Francisco and Denver (the only year Denver struck the Morgan!), as well as 1922-P, D and S Peace Dollars.
This is your chance to secure an incredible “first and last” set of Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition. These are must-haves for any Morgan or Peace Dollar collector, and a great way to kick-off any Silver Dollar collection.
- AMERICA’S MOST POPULAR COIN – The Morgan Silver Dollar – so named for its designer, U.S. Mint Assistant Engraver George T. Morgan – has stood the test of time. Struck from 1878-1904 and again in 1921. Morgan’s historic design depicts a profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse while the reverse features an eagle with outstretched wings.
- FAMOUS PEACE SILVER DOLLAR – While not produced in the same numbers as the Morgan Silver Dollar, the Peace Silver Dollar series has seen its reputation grow with each passing year. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, it features Lady Liberty on the obverse and a perched eagle on the reverse. It was struck from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935.
- STRUCK IN GLEAMING AMERICAN SILVER – Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars were both struck in 26.73 grams of 90% silver and measure 38.1 mm in diameter.
- LEGAL TENDER SILVER DOLLARS – These coins were $1 legal tender in the United States.
- BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED CONDITION – These coins will come in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition with attractive eye appeal.
- THE CASE OF THE DISAPPEARING MORGANS – While millions of Morgan Silver Dollars were struck from 1878 through 1921, massive silver meltings and the ravages of time have taken their toll. Today coin experts believe that only 15% of all Morgans ever struck remain in existence.
- PEACE DOLLARS BECOMING SCARCE – Placed directly into circulation, most Peace Silver Dollars are heavily worn. Hundreds of thousands of these classic coins were melted during the “Great Melting Pot” of 1980 when silver hit $50 an ounce in 1980. The ensuing carnage decreased the known number of surviving Peace Dollars.
Don’t miss your chance to secure an incredible “first and last” set with this 1921–1922-PDS Morgan & Peace Silver Dollar Six-Piece Set. These historic coins are getting harder to find every year, so grab yours now!
