1948–1952 Franklin Silver Half Dollar 5-pc Set F–VF
First Five Years of the Benjamin Franklin Half Dollar
Two years after the end of World War II, it was time for a change. The Walking Liberty Half Dollar series came to an end in 1947 and was replaced by the Benjamin Franklin Half Dollar. This was the first coin of the 20th century to feature the profile of someone other than a U.S. President! The reverse displays the Liberty Bell along with a small eagle, as it is required for an eagle to be a part of any U.S. coin design. “Firsts” are always a big deal in the world of coin collecting, but we’ve gone further by putting together a set containing the first five dates of this 90% fine silver series. Coins come in Fine to Very Fine (F–VF) condition, housed together in a deluxe presentation case.

Sinnock and a Liberty Bell reverse designed by Gilroy Roberts, the eighth and ninth Chief Engravers of the U.S. Mint respectively, the Franklin Half Dollar is an exquisitely designed coin that is popular among collectors.
