World War II Quarters Struck at the Denver Mint

During World War II, more than 624 million Washington Quarters were struck, each containing 90% fine silver. But only a fraction of these coins featured the “D” mint mark of the Denver Mint. In fact, just 12% of all Washington Quarters struck during this time came from Denver! These Washington Quarters struck at the Denver Mint from 1941 to 1945 represent a complete mint set of wartime quarters that saw circulation across the Homefront as America fought through to final victory.

• LEGAL TENDER – These quarters are 25 cents legal tender and were issued during a time when gasoline was 15 cents per gallon, a dozen eggs cost 25 cents, a pound of hamburger cost 30 cents, and a movie tickets was 35 cents.
