1974–1981 $10 Federal Reserve Offset 3-Note Set PMG 63–64 EPQ
Unique Set of $10 Federal Reserve Offset Error Notes
This set is completely unique and cannot be shopped – it’s the only one of its kind in existence! With this 3-note set, you’ll receive a trio of $10 Hamilton Federal Reserve notes issued in 1974, 1977 and 1981. Each of these notes comes from the New York district.
What sets this set apart is that each note displays an offset printing error. This occurs when an inked plate contacts the bed – often because the next sheet was not fed into the press. As a result, that ink remains on the bed when the next sheet is finally fed into the press, resulting in a part of one design appearing on the other side of the note.
On each of these notes, the error is significant. You can see the back design clearly overprinted on the front design. That gives you three different series of the same denomination, from the same district, with the same error – an extremely difficult thing to create! The ghostly mirror image of the United States Treasury Building appears like a phantom floating behind the familiar portrait of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, the nation’s first Secretary of the Treasury.
Error notes like these sometimes circulate for years before some sharp-eyed collector finds them. By then, they’ve been passed back and forth and changed hands multiple times resulting in significant wear. But fortunately for you, each note in this set comes certified by Paper Money Guarantee (PMG) as being in Choice Uncirculated 63 or 64 Excellent Paper Quality (EPQ) condition.
