Final Three Years of the Buffalo Nickel

Few American coins are as iconic as the classic Buffalo Nickel. Struck from 1913 to 1938, the popular coin has become synonymous with the American spirit. Although they haven’t been issued for more than 80 years, you can now secure the final three dates of this popular series in Circulated condition with this fantastic set.

Rugged Wild West Designs

Created by famed American sculptor James Earle Fraser, the Buffalo Nickel has always been one of America’s most revered coins. The Indian depicted on the coin is a dead ringer for Oglala Lakota Chief Iron Tail — though Fraser claimed it was a composite of three men in order to protect both the Chief’s privacy and his own artistic license. The buffalo on the reverse was modeled after Black Diamond, a large American bison then on display at the Bronx Zoo in New York City not far from Fraser’s studio. This timeless design is as popular as ever and now graces the U.S Mint’s annual $50 one-ounce gold bullion coin!

Millions of these vintage Buffalo Nickels have worn out in circulation or been recalled and destroyed by the government. Today, significant quantities are often found only in private hoards and estate collections. As a result, these coins are becoming more sought-after each day. Here’s your chance to go on an epic “Buffalo Hunt” for a trio of key-date Buffalos — all without having to leave the comfort and safety of your home or office! Plus, each set comes beautifully housed in a custom storycard. Make this 1936–1938 Buffalo Nickel Three-Piece Set a key addition to your personal collection today! Mints vary.
