Lincoln Wheatback Cents Sets From The San Francisco Mint
For more than 100 years, the Lincoln Cent has been a familiar coin. Designed by Victor David Brenner, it was originally issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s birth and was the first coin to depict the likeness of an actual person compared to all other previous coin series that depicted various renderings of Liberty. For the first 50 years of its run from 1909 to 1958, the coins were called “Wheatback Cents” for their distinctive wheat ears that appeared on the reverse. The wheat ears were replaced by the Lincoln Memorial beginning in 1959.
35 Coins And NO Duplicates!
Here you have a 35-piece set of Lincoln Wheat Cents struck at the San Francisco Mint between 1916 and 1955. The set has no duplicate dates, and each coin will come in Good to Fine (G-F) condition. What makes this set even more tasty is that each coin features the “S” mint mark of the San Francisco Mint, the United States Branch mint that struck only 11% of the total mintage and did not strike a Lincoln Cent in 1922!
The Lincoln Wheatback Cent is a timeless classic. These coins circulated widely for decades and put many young collectors on the path to becoming lifelong enthusiasts. Act now to get this San Francisco Mint-struck set!
