75th Anniversary of WWII Tribute Set
75 years ago, bells rang out around the world to announce that peace had finally come — the Second World War had come to an end. This two-coin set brings together a pair of U.S. Half Dollars.
- The first is a 90% silver, Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) 1943 Walking Liberty Half Dollar struck during the war. It features a patriotic design of Liberty striding forward draped in an American flag, while the reverse displays a stoic eagle. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman, Walking Liberty Half Dollars are a staple of American history and are even more popular today than when they circulated during the first half of the 20th Century.
- The second coin is the 1993 World War II Commemorative Clad Half Dollar, struck with dual dates of 1991 and 1995 to mark the 50th anniversary of the war. The coin’s obverse depicts the faces of a solider, sailor, and airman looking upwards while a B-17 bomber flies overhead with a “V” for victory in the background. The reverse depicts a battle scene from the Pacific Islands. This coin comes in Proof condition, with frosty devices and mirrored fields.
Along with these two coins you’ll also receive an authentic 1944 Allied Military Currency (AMC) note, issued to soldiers fighting overseas during the war! Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II with this terrific set.
