1921–1935 Peace Silver Dollar 24-pc Set Slider–Uncirculated w/Deluxe Whitman Album
A Beautiful And Scarce Complete Set Of Peace Dollars
What you’ve got here is an outstanding 1921–1935 Complete Peace Dollar Set in Slider/Uncirculated condition, housed in a Deluxe Whitman Coin Album designed to display and protect your collection. Once this collection is in your hands, you’ll see that the Slider/Uncirculated condition refers to mint state coins that are now basically almost uncirculated because acetate sheets in a coin album caused a few hairline streaks on the obverses! This is a complete Philadelphia Mint/Denver Mint/San Francisco Mint set of Peace Silver Dollars that includes all the key dates. It would take the average collector a very long time to put together a set like this—but we’ve done al the hard work for you!
Recognizing The Peace After World War I
Following World War I, numismatists began to lobby the United States Mint to replace the Morgan Silver Dollar with a coin that memorialized peace. Their efforts persuaded government officials to act, and the Peace Dollar was approved in December 1921, completing the redesign of U.S. coinage instigated by President Teddy Roosevelt beginning in 1907.
The public hated the new design, believing the image of a broken sword that was part of it referenced defeat, and the Mint hastily acted to remove the sword. The revised design Peace Dollar was first struck on December 28, 1921. Just over a million were minted bearing a 1921 date. These coins featured a high relief design that was quickly identified as impractical due to the extra time required for minting, the shorter life of the dies used, and the fact that the coins didn’t stack well, so a standard relief design was instituted in 1922. When the Pittman Act requirements were met in 1928, the mint ceased production of the Silver Dollars, but struck more in 1934 and 1935 when the need arose.

The Peace Dollar series was the last Silver Dollar series struck entirely in highly pure 90% fine silver. The 1921 Peace Dollar in high relief is included here, as are the 1928-P and 1934-S Peace Dollars, both regarded as key dates due to low mintages of 360,649 and 1,011,000 respectively. Now here’s the kicker—we only have five of these complete sets, and when they’re gone, that’s all she wrote! Act quickly to secure yours!
