It will come as no surprise that we try to get our hands on as many perfect MS70 Silver Eagles as we can each year—the American Silver Eagles available here are all in Mint State-70 (MS70) condition as certified by NGC, one of the top coin-grading services in the world.

This year, we wanted to “up our game,” so we not only sought out perfect coins, but also Silver Eagles from the very First day they were released. Each of these coins has also been NGC-certified with the special First Day of Issue pedigree, which means they’ve been secured from the mint on the very first day of release. There’s no finer pedigree than First Day of Issue—and only a fraction of the Silver Eagles released each year qualify for that pedigree. 

Nobody knows the mintages for 2025 Silver Eagles at this point, but looking at last year gives us an idea of what to expect. Out of 20,144,000 million Silver Eagles minted last year, 201,001 of them were submitted to NGC for grading. Of those, only 19,712 received a perfect 70 grade with an FDI pedigree. That’s less than 10% of the Silver Eagles submitted for grading and just .0.1% of the total mintage of 2024 Silver Eagles! That is indeed a small population!
