The Peace Silver Dollar is one of America’s most popular vintage coins and the last silver dollar series struck for circulation entirely in silver. The short-lived series was struck from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 & 1935. The U.S. Mint struck the coin again in 2021 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Peace Dollar’s first year of issue. After a one-year hiatus due to the unavailability of silver blanks, the Peace Dollar returned in 2023 and now it’s back again for 2024!

Using its modern technology, the U.S. Mint’s new Peace Silver Dollars are bigger and bolder than ever! Featuring the same designs created by Italian American Sculptor Anthony de Francisci, the 2024 Peace Silver Dollar differs from its vintage ancestors only in that instead of being struck in 26.73 grams of 90% fine silver, it has been minted in .859 troy ounces of highly pure 99.9% fine silver. The rest is all still there—the same profile of Lady Liberty wearing a crown of rays modeled after the design of the Statue of Liberty. The model for Lady Liberty was 23-year-old Teresa Cafarelli de Francisci, the young sculptor’s wife. The familiar reverse returns as well showing an eagle at rest holding an olive branch above the inscription “PEACE.”

Each coin available here was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and, just like the vintage Peace Dollars struck there more than a century ago, has no mint mark.
