As eloquently described by journalist Tom Brokaw in his book The Greatest Generation, the Americans who were born during the Roaring ’20s, grew up during the Depression-era ’30s, served in World War II, and then led the United States through the post-war boom earned that sobriquet through hard work, determination, and perseverance.
