The Colorful World Of BAZOOKA Joe

The original BAZOOKA bubble gum was manufactured by the Topps Company of New York and packaged in patriotic red, white and blue colors. A few years later, All-American Joe and his gang were introduced on comic strips wrapped around the pink wafers of bubble gum. These comics quickly became collectibles in their own right with more than 1,500 versions that featured the familiar eye-patch-wearing Joe and his gang of friends that included characters like Pesty, Joe’s cowboy hat-wearing younger brother, Mort, whose face was always obscured by a red turtleneck sweater, Joe’s girlfriend Jane, and Walkie Talkie, a neighborhood mutt.

These candy-shaped bars feature the image of BAZOOKA Joe along with the PAMP logo. The reverse design shows a “75th Anniversary” logo superimposed over a background field of repeating “BAZOOKA” logos. Though not legal tender, these miniature bricks were struck in 40 grams of highly pure 99.99% silver. Plus, each one available in this offer comes in gorgeous Gem Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition, meaning each is the product of a superb strike that places it firmly among the elite of the run.

One strip shows Mort trying to figure out what to do with a crooked picture and is limited 1,500 strips. A second shows Mort explaining to Joe why he has trouble with girls and is limited to just 1,000 strips. The final strip shows Mort trying to get Hungry Herman to pay up on a loan and is limited to only 500 strips.
