2018 Japan Mint Set Celebrates Year of the Dog

Much like the U.S. Mint, the Japan Mint also issues spectacular Mint Sets each year. 2018 was notable for being the 10th anniversary of the first issue of the 500 Yen bi-color clad coin that commemorated the 60^th anniversary of the Local Autonomy Law in Japan. In addition to the six Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) legal-tender coins, this seven-piece set includes a red-brass medal marking The Year of the Dog featuring a trio of pups pictured in a backyard outside their dog house. The other coins in set include the 1 Yen, 5 Yen, 10 Yen, 50 Yen, 100 Yen and 500 Yen coins.
