1950 Coca-Cola® Bakelike Cooler Radio
1950 Bakelite Cooler Radio
Coca-Cola® is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. What began as a local beverage in an Atlanta, Georgia soda fountain in 1886 has become an integral part of American culture and spawned a company whose products are enjoyed 1.7 billion times a day. That enjoyment extends to collectors. Coca-Cola collector organizations exist around the world, with an annual convention held in the United States every year. And these collectors mean serious business: vintage Coca-Cola memorabilia can go for more than $100,000 on the collector market!
A Vintage Cooler Radio That Still Works!
Recently, we’ve established a relationship with one of the nation’s top Coca-Cola memorabilia dealers, and so we’ve worked to bring you a fantastic selection of historic pieces we think you’ll really enjoy. This offering is a Cooler Radio that was created in 1950 using Bakelite plastic, and is in fantastic condition. Reproductions of these were made in the 1980s, but this is the genuine article! Often, these radios are found with knobs missing, or in non-working order. In other cases, the plastic became brittle over the years, leading to the case cracking. Others were simply tossed due to their age.
That’s what makes this piece so wonderful: not only is it complete and still in working condition, but it’s in fantastic shape. Our buyer believes he’s seen only two of these in any condition in the last year. A piece this fine is difficult to come by, and not common by any means. So, take a trip back to the days of listening to baseball games in the shade of the garage and secure this Cooler Radio for your collection today.
