1939 Coca-Cola® Fountain Double-Sided Porcelain Dispenser Sign
1939 Fountain Dispenser Sign
Coca-Cola® is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. What began as a local beverage in an Atlanta, Georgia soda fountain in 1886 has become an integral part of American culture and spawned a company whose products are enjoyed 1.7 billion times a day. That enjoyment extends to collectors. Coca-Cola collector organizations exist around the world, with an annual convention held in the United States every year. And these collectors mean serious business: vintage Coca-Cola memorabilia can go for more than $100,000 on the collector market!
This Double-Sided Sign Will Have You Thinking About Drinking Coca-Cola
Recently, we’ve established a relationship with one of the nation’s top Coca-Cola memorabilia dealers, and so we’ve worked to bring you a fantastic selection of historic pieces we think you’ll really enjoy. This offering is a Double-Sided Fountain Dispenser Sign made of porcelain by the Tennessee Enamel Manufacturing Co. in Nashville, Tennessee. With the simple words “Drink Coca-Cola®,” it showed that the business hanging this outside its door had a genuine Coca-Cola fountain inside ready to quench your thirst.
As a double-sided Dispenser (DSP) sign, this would have hung from a bracket so that it could be seen by passers-by going in either direction. It’s also so scarce that you won’t find it in the “Bible” of Coca-Cola products used by collectors! And even if you could find one, it would likely be in far worse shape. This remarkably preserved piece retains its beautiful colors, and even has the two hangers at the top!
While we’re on that subject — it’s a cardinal sin among collectors to hang these double-sided signs flat against the wall. So, if you secure this excellent piece, get yourself a display bracket and do it right!
