The Last Years of an American Classic
The buying power of American coins went pretty far in the 30s. You could buy a gallon of gas for your Packard with just two nickels. Then it skidded to a stop - not the Packard, the Buffalo nickel! Due to the Depression, the production of Buffalo nickels halted in 1932 and 1933, a rare occurrence for the U.S. Mint. They were released once again in 1934, then the series continued until its end in 1938. Here’s your chance to own a complete dates and mintmark collection of Buffalo nickels from the 30s, which happened to be the last Buffalo nickels struck by the U.S. Mint. Each comes in Fine (F) to Very Fine (VF) condition conveniently housed in a Buffalo Nickel album. Each set also includes a certificate of authenticity and a storybook on the Buffalo Nickel series.
