The San Francisco Mint is known for producing some of the finest-quality coins of any U.S. Mint branch. While more than 190 million Peace Silver Dollars were struck during its 10 years of issue, the San Francisco Mint produced only 27% of the total mintage. In 1926, during the height of the Roaring ’20s, the San Francisco Mint really curtailed production. In fact, according to the Comprehensive Silver Dollar Encyclopedia, as few as 52,000 San Francisco Mint Peace Dollars struck that year exist in mint condition — that less than 1% of the total Peace Dollars struck that year!
