Quality 1923-P Peace Silver Dollar Signed By The Head Of The Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee

These Peace Dollars were struck at the “Mother Mint” in Philadelphia in 1923—the same year the Hollywood sign was inaugurated and the year the Yankees played their first home game in the old stadium. The Philadelphia Mint’s production of 1923 Peace Dollars also represents the second largest mintage of the series. But due to numerous melts of 1923 and in the years that followed, the number of remaining coins is significantly less than when they were issued. According to respected numismatist Q. David Bowers, as few as 16% of all Peace Dollars ever struck exist today!

Signed By A Leading Voice In Modern Numismatics

The coins in this offer have been graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) as being in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition. Each features amazing luster with attractive overall quality and pleasing eye appeal so that every detail is crisp and sharp. Plus, each will come sonically sealed in an acrylic holder and encapsulated with a label that was personally signed by Thomas J. Uram, chairman of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC). Without Uram’s push, the highly coveted 2021 and 2023 modern Peace Dollars struck by the U.S. Mint would not have come to fruition as he led the effort to pass the 1921 Silver Dollar Coin Anniversary Act to mark the Peace Dollar’s 100th anniversary.

A Symbol of Peace For The Ages

Struck in 26.73 grams of highly pure 90% fine silver, America’s Peace Silver Dollar was designed by 33-year-old Italian-American sculptor Anthony De Francisci, who used his wife, Teresa Cafarelli, as his model for Lady Liberty. The design presents Lady Liberty wearing a crown of rays on the obverse while the reverse features an eagle holding the olive branches of peace, rather than the typical olive branches and arrows of war. The coin’s original reverse showed an eagle breaking a sword to symbolize disarmament at the end of the war. Mint officials were concerned this depiction would signify defeat and had the sword removed. The result was a beautiful symbol of peace for the ages!

What better coin to own than a sought-after silver dollar issued in honor of peace! Its rich symbolism is something every collector must own. Be sure to secure your high-grade 1923-P Peace Dollar along with its autograph from the head of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee and start telling its compelling story to friends and fellow collectors today!
