1915-S Lincoln Cent VG
The 1915-S Lincoln Cent You Need
Struck from 1909 to 1958, the Lincoln Wheatback Cent is a timeless classic. So named for the wheat stalks on the reverse, this coin circulated widely for decades, and put many young collectors on the path to becoming lifelong enthusiasts. Here we have a 1915 Lincoln Cent from the San Francisco Mint, which struck only 4.833 million that year compared to 29 million struck at the Philadelphia Mint and 22 million struck at the Denver Mint. That makes this one by far the scarcest of this date. In fact, the San Francisco Mint struck only 11% of all years of Lincoln Cents.
America’s Longest-Running Pocket Change
Since its debut in 1909 through today, the Lincoln Cent has been a staple of pocket change in the United States right up to this very day. Struck continuously for more than 110 years, the Lincoln Cent is one of America’s most popular coins. These “Wheatback Cents” are among the most popular vintage U.S. coins ever struck.
