The Indian Head Cent Everyone’s Looking For
We found it! Struck in 1908, this S-Mint Indian Head Cent is one of just 1.115 million struck. Add to that the fact that it’s the first year the San Francisco Mint ever struck a One Cent coin, the fact that it’s the third-lowest mintage of any Indian Head Cent, and the fact that it’s more than 110 years old, and you have a piece that any American coin collector is dying to add to his or her collection, but can’t always find at a decent price.
Clean, Uncluttered Classic Design
One of the timeless classics of American coinage, the Indian Head Cent first appeared in 1859 and was struck until 1909. Featuring Liberty in a feathered headdress on the obverse, the coin also depicts a simple laurel wreath around the One Cent denomination on the reverse. Designed by James B. Longacre, the U.S. Mint’s 4th chief engraver, the clean, uncluttered design of this coin simply isn’t possible today’s due to the inscriptions required on modern coinage. It’s an absolute must-have for any American coin collection, and for many of us was the first retired design we collected!
A coin with a mintage of 1.115 million may seem like a lot, but the U.S. Mint struck more than a billion—that’s Billion with a “B” — Lincoln Cents in 2018 alone! Plus, each coin available I this offer comes in Nice Fine (F) condition. This is your chance to secure this classic 1908-S Indian Head Cent. Order yours today!
