1905–1910 Silver Barber Half Dollar
The Barber Half Dollar is a classic American design. Struck in highly pure 90% fine silver, it features Lady Liberty with a triple headdress consisting of a cap, a laurel wreath, and a tiny coronet inscribed with her name. The coin’s reverse design is based on the Great Seal of the United States and portrays an eagle with wings spread holding an olive branch and three arrows. The coins get their name from designer Charles E. Barber, the sixth Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. Barber is one of the most famous and prolific coin designers in U.S. Mint history, having designed a full range of circulating coinage in his day.
