The Accidental Discovery Of A Lifetime

During the second Project Mercury flight on July 21, 1961, the Liberty Bell 7 space capsule sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean where it would remain lost for almost four decades. In the spring of 1999, the Discovery Channel underwrote The Search for Liberty Bell 7 Expedition with Oceaneering International, Inc. to find and retrieve the lost spacecraft.
