1940–1947-PDS Lincoln Wheat Cent 15-pc Set NGC MS67 RD
These Timeless, High-Grade Wheatback Cents Will have You Seeing Red
For many collectors, the Wheat-Back Cent was the first coin that caught their eye. While it featured Victor D. Brenner’s iconic design of President Abraham Lincoln on the obverse, the reverse wasn’t the Lincoln Memorial—it was the coin’s denomination, surrounded by a pair of wheat stalks. This discovery opened up a world of collecting possibilities. What other coins existed that we didn’t know about, and how could we get our hands on them?
Fifteen Different Lincoln Cents Struck During The 1940s
Here’s a chance to give another new collector (perhaps even yourself!) that same joy by securing this stunning set that includes 15 different Lincoln Cents struck during the 1940s, a decade that includes World War II, the start of the post-war economic expansion, and the first years of the Baby Boom. The coins in this set were struck at the Philadelphia (P), Denver (D) and San Francisco (S) Mints. The Denver Mint struck just 35% of the total mintage of all Wheat Pennies, and the San Francisco Mint struck only 11% of the total mintage. The coins in this set are as follows:

Graded By NGC In Superb Gem Uncirculated Mint State-67 Condition
What makes these Lincoln Wheat-Back Cent from the 1940s even more fantastic is that they have all been graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) as being in incredible Superb Gem Uncirculated Mint State-67 (MS67) condition, meaning they feature strong, full strikes, full original luster, exceptional eye appeal, and no hairlines or other imperfection visible to the naked eye. Six of these coins are tied for the highest graded and finest known at NGC, and another seven of these have five or fewer coins at this same grade. In other words, it will be nearly impossible to find better grades that what we have here.
Vintage Copper Pennies With At Least 95% Of Their Original Red Color
Additionally, NGC has certified that these coins are Red (RD) copper pennies, a designation that really locks down their status as high-grade coins. A Red designation is applied only to high-grade copper pennies that retain at least 95 percent of their original red color on their surfaces. When copper coins are first struck, they have a brilliant reddish-orange color. Over time that red color will begin to turn brown. The color of vintage pennies and other copper coins is graded on a continuous scale of Red (RD), Red Brown (RB) and Brown (BN).
One more thing. We’ve got only one set available, so if you want to add these coins to your collection, you need to act fast! Pinch set now while you still can because at this price—and with this high grade—It’ll be worth every penny!
